Hydrographic Notes makes it easy to create an HNote while you’re out on the water – ready for submission when you’re back on dry land.
The New Zealand Hydrographic Authority (NZHA) asks mariners to report any new or suspected dangers to navigation or shortcomings in charts or publications, preferably through Hydrographic Notes (HNotes).
With NZHA’s Hydrographic Notes App you can:
enter details about marine hazards
add co-ordinates manually or using geo-location
attach photographs
submit your HNote to the NZHA
keep a record of the HNote that you’ve created.
We’ll send an acknowledgement of receipt and use the information to help protect other mariners from marine hazards. If a Notice to Mariners is issued, the sender’s ship or name will be quoted as the authority.
You can find out more about Hydrographic Notes and the way they’re used by the NZHA on the Land Information New Zealand website.
